Fantasy football is being a Raiders fan and wishing for a decent season.
Or a Bears fan.
Amen to that. Since I've been a long-time fan of fantasy RPGs as well as fantasy football, a friend of mine bought me the following t-shirt:http://www.bustedtees.com/fantasyfootball
P.S. Yes, fantasy footballers are big nerds just like roleplayers, don't let anyone tell you different. Their passtime is not more "macho" or "cool" just because it revolves around a professional sport. It still involves dorking out on "fantastical" situations. 'Nuff said.
In fact, I think they were cosplayers way before geeks made it cool, what with their jerseys and caps and all that.
I once told my boss that fantasy football was D&D for sports nerds. I thought he was going to cry, but he reluctantly agreed.
If he wears a jersey mention to him that he's a cosplayer as well.
This is something that's never really taken off in this country. i think it's a shame as other people who like to pretend they have anything to do with the national sport over here tend to get drunk and violently attack people. Bring on the fantasy soccer!
I heard a comedian once describe it as D&D for guys who used to beat up the guys that played D&D.
