Dedicated to just the Swords & Wizardry material that I've put together.

My Swords & Wizardry House Rules V8

Gaming Aids

Two fabulous gaming aid booklets based on the Swords & Wizardry Core Rules. The Book of Wizardry and the Book of the Divine.

Book of Wizardry
Give your players this hands on Spell Book for their Spell-casting characters. Compiled from the existing spell descriptions in the classic-style fantasy RPG Swords & Wizardry Core Rules by Matt Finch and organized by level of spell with an index. 40 page Digest.
*FYI, I am in the process of updating the Book of Wizardry to the New Core Rules, I'll also be adding Matt's Eldritch Weirdness spells as well.

Book of the Divine
But why stop with wizards? You don't want your players casting spells of divine intervention to be left out? This book of divine spells are for Cleric or Druid characters. Also compiled from the existing spell descriptions in the fantasy RPG Swords & Wizardry Core Rules and Supplemental Lore by Skathros.

With a few modifications both of these books can be used with most old style fantasy RPGs.

Both books are available as a free pdf download that you can print yourself or as a print on demand book at the Warlocks' Lulu Storefront.

Character Record Sheets

NEW Swords & Wizardry Core Rules single sided character sheets.  There are two versions of the character sheet. The only changes being one having a space for spells (good for Clerics or Druids) and the other having more room for Equipment and Special Abilities.

Magic-user Spell Tracker used to keep track of their found spells, known spells and memorized spells. This should help Magic-User player keep all his spell notes organized.

Magic-user Spell Tracker Download

Classic Swords & Wizardry Character sheet. It's single sided and even has a space to sketch your character. I created a US 8.5 X 11 version as well as an European A4. Feel free to download it and use in your game.

Swords & Wizardry Monsters

The Warlock's Digest of Dungeon Dwelling Denizens

I've put together The Warlock's Digest of Dungeon Dwelling Denizens, a no frills old school monster statistical reference in digest format. It lists the stats only for all the monsters published in the Swords & Wizardry Core rules with a couple others monsters that I've used in my campaign thrown in. It sports ascending and descending armor class so it should be helpful in most old school style games.

It's a free download so have at it!

    1. Hi Paul,

I recently found your blog and your campaign looks like it would be a blast to play in. I was interested in checking out your House Rules doc, but the link above doesn't work for me. Is the file still available?

      Thanks,
      Mark

    3. Hey Paul - I just grabbed a copy of your updated houserules and had a couple questions for you.

      1) Do you have an OGL block for your stuff? I'm working on a similar booklet and ideally would release it like you have here, but I'd like to do it totally above board and use the OGL to cover my butt. If I were to include anything gleaned from you (with permission, and a shout out in the credits if nothing else), have you posted these as OGL?

      2) I love your Campaign Guide booklet and have filled one already. One thing I'd add is a couple pages in the beginning for PC info. Not full character sheets, but maybe 2 or 3 to a page. Basically the highlights that would be on an index card anyway. I liked that bit in the old AD&D DMs Log Book -PC notes and a section to indicate light sources, marching order.

I may work on that tonight actually - I could use a project. I'll post it once I get something together.

Anywho - thanks for sharing this stuff. Comes in handy for sure!

    4. To be honest, almost all of the stuff I compiled for my house rules existed in one form or another from rules (S&W & LL) and other blog posts throughout the OSR blog'o'sphere. I posted my house rules for anyone to use as reference. Sometimes I did get permission for things, other times I didn't. Since it wasn't something that I was selling to promoting I didn't feel I needed to go through 'official' channels. I just made my research available for reference for other gamers. Feel free to use what you like from there but keep in mind, I 'plundered' a'plenty of folks way more creative than me!

That's a good idea for an addition tot he Campaign Guide booklet. Let me see what you come up with an maybe I'll add it to mine.

    5. That's my issue as well. I've been known to plunder from various blogs and forums (fora?) which is all well and good for private use, but if I'm going through the trouble of producing a rule book/supplement, I want to share it (for free). I do try to note where I got things so I can give credit, and use that persons OGL info if I can find it. Otherwise, I suppose a credit will do and it will fall under my own OGL.

Once I get something together for the Campaign Booklet, I'll let you know. Thanks!
