I'm amazed at how well it turned out! One questions for you... in regards to he larger world map, approx what scale would you say this is... one inch equals how many miles?mediapighttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03847793712719645626noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6435656792946778359.post-19869823534414575282010-08-11T17:38:59.149-07:002010-08-11T17:38:59.149-07:00This comment has been removed by the author.mediapighttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03847793712719645626noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6435656792946778359.post-86529689658926987112010-01-14T09:04:30.534-07:002010-01-14T09:04:30.534-07:00@ M. I then retraced it, redrawing mountains and hills and adding more detail. I just used photoshop/illustrator just for the enlargement then hand-drew the secondary maps. The scale and the line weights were too large once it was zoomed in to just use that version. I'm essentially using the same technique that you are.

When time permits, I'm planning on some more tutorials too go through some of these additional topics that have been brought up.bliss_infintehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12433733609487959653noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6435656792946778359.post-84829206947202541652010-01-08T15:58:29.338-07:002010-01-08T15:58:29.338-07:00For your zoomed in maps, did you hand draw and ink...For your zoomed in maps, did you hand draw and ink them individually? How did you tackle the problem of keeping them in scaled continuity with your larger world map? Approximation? The best solution I've come up with so far is to literally zoom in on an area in the larger map in Photoshop, crop it, and print it out to act as a rough tracing for a freshly drawn copy so that I can not only add further detail where needed but because zooming on an image with a defined pixel ratio can reveal some ugly line and image problems. If you have a more efficient technique that you use, I'd be glad to get the breakdown on that.M. I can't remember if I had created it or downloaded it. If I downloaded it, I don't remember where I DL'ed it from. If you do a search for free paper texture backgrounds hi res you may be able to find something that you can use. I've run into tutorials out there on how to make paper texture but you'll have to do a search on that as well.bliss_infintehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12433733609487959653noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6435656792946778359.post-17613146199259518992010-01-06T10:55:26.481-07:002010-01-06T10:55:26.481-07:00I wanna know how you made the paper background.
